France needs 54 billion € per year to eliminate agricultural contamination in water

imm_lefigaroThe total cost to eliminate contaminating agricultural emissions in water is 70 € every kg of nitrate and € 60,000 every kg of pesticides.

The 2011 report made by the French-CGDD, the Commissioner-General for Sustainable Development, confirms a similar report made in 2010 by the Court of Auditors: the decontamination of water, to remove agricultural emissions, would cost at least € 54 billion per year .

The journalist Stéphane Foucart has published, on Le Monde Planéte of July 9, 2012, a detailed report on the dark handling, dubious “triangulations” of skills, conflict of interests and sliding doors that surround the “impartial assessment of acceptability of the risk on bees and pollinators” and therefore the consequent EU authorization of risky insecticides.

In another article, he denounced how a French public researcher has been censured.

time-outOnce again the Department of Health has announced its decision to renew the suspension of use of corn treated with systemic insecticides.

The Health Minister Balduzzi said: "... we make a caution decisions harmonized with the European Community and inspired to protect bees and the corn crop production. It 's bettar outweighs the precautionary principle ...”.

Francesco Panella, president of the Beekeepers Association, welcomed the Precautionary Principle adopted by Italy, which has resulted, from September 2008 to present, two pronunciations court (of Rome and the Tar Council) and six administrative decisions.
